Student-Athletes Named to SCAC Academic Honor Roll

The Austin College winter and spring sports teams had 51 student-athletes named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll, the league office has announced. In order to achieve Academic Honor Roll status, a student-athlete must post a 3.25 grade-point-average in the semester in which he or she competes.

Among those honored from the baseball team are Tyler Appelquist, Matt Burke, Will Chermak, Scott Cottingham, Josh Foster, Lee Frank, Phillip Gonzales, Mason Leech, Chase Muder, John Reisig, John Schulmeister, Tyler Steed and Andy White. Softball players honored were Suzanne Beltran, Chelsea Delaney, Heather Farquhar, Kali Gossett, Abbey Hayes, Katie Hendrickson, Bridgett Mitchell, Courtney Nitson, Sam Smith and Carolyn Stone.

Taylor Beatty, Kyle Lintelman, Arron Mewbourn, Alen Michael, Zach Mitzner and Josh Saunders were the Academic Honor Roll members from men’s basketball, while Dee Binyon, Courtney Kenisky, Kayla Redden, Gwen Seale, Amber Stafford and Katy Williams were the representatives from the women’s basketball team.

Cameron Behal, Josh Tignor, Cora Barraza, Christine Caldwell, Meaghan Gomm and Chelsea Wylie were the members of the swimming and diving team who earned the honor while Zack Bengston, Anthony Cook, Eric Gordon, Daniel Jackson, Katherine Bailey, Jessie Berger, Lizzie Flint, Emily Kuo, Kelly Lewis and Leigh-Ann Sechrist all made the Academic Honor Roll from the men’s and women’s tennis teams.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
