Elizabeth McKee Gore, executive director of Nothing But Nets, Girl Up, and global partnerships for the United Nations Foundation, will be the guest of honor at this year’s Austin College Posey Leadership Forum on October 21. Her lecture at 11 a.m. on the second floor of Wright Campus Center is free and open to the public. The specific location will be marked the day of the event.
The Posey Leadership Forum promotes its mission to develop women and men of influence through a combination of dialogue and cooperative learning. The Forum brings noted leadership scholars to campus to interact with Austin College students and faculty and offer additional perspectives on leadership.
Gore directs global partnerships, and Nothing But Nets, which works for malaria prevention through dispensation of mosquito netting in at-risk areas, for the United Nations Foundation. She also directs initiatives such as the Girl Up campaign benefiting adolescent girls globally, campaigns for malaria prevention, and a multi-million dollar partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She was one of 16 adventurers to climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro earlier this year for Summit on the Summit, an effort to raise awareness of the global clean water crisis.
