The Austin College women’s soccer team topped Southwestern University 1-0 on Friday afternoon, while the men fell 3-1 to the Pirates. The women are now 9-1 overall on the year and 4-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play, while the men fall to 4-4-3 overall and 1-2-2 in conference play.
In the women’s game, Mackenzie scored the lone goal in the 27th minute off of a Lauren Scott assist and Kaitlin Elledge made three saves to earn the shutout.
In the men’s contest, the ‘Roos went into halftime knotted at 1-1 after Chris Melton scored on a Sam Temple assist, but the Pirates scored two unanswered goals in the second half to hand Austin College the loss.
Both teams will take to the field against Trinity in San Antonio on Sunday.
