The Jordan Family Language House offers round-the-clock study of German, Spanish, French, Japanese, and Chinese language and culture. The coeducational house is home to 48 students and four native speaker language residents. While in the Language House, residents speak their chosen language. The nationally recognized Jordan Family Language House, opened in 1998, is divided into five pods (one for each language). Each pod has bedrooms and a common living area.
The House also features the multimedia Culpeper Language Laboratory, a kitchen for all residents and a large interior courtyard. In addition to the benefits of living and breathing the language of your choice, Language House residents earn half-credits by meeting formal course requirements.
