Jan Term Scholarships for Current Students
Stephens Scholarships
- Current Austin College juniors and seniors may apply.
- Funds are designated to be used on January Term study abroad programs.
- Two scholarships are available and may amount up to $2,000 each.
Myron Low Fund
- Current Austin College sophomores, juniors, and seniors may apply.
- Funds are designated to be used on January Term study abroad programs.
- Depending upon revenue generated by the Fund, a variable number of awards are available and may amount between $500-$2,000.
In awarding both Stephens and Low Scholarships, the advisory committee considers the following factors:
- Previous experience abroad (Jan Term or semester/year) with priority to those having little or no such experience
- Financial need, including total outstanding indebtedness
- Academic merit as indicated by a GPA of 3.0 or above
- Classification

Departmental Scholarships
There are several academic departments which have endowed scholarship funds to be awarded each year in April at Honors Convocation to be used for the following academic year. There is typically no scholarship application process since the recipients are usually selected by the department faculty. These scholarships vary in amount and are typically one-year awards.
