Golden ‘Roos are Austin College alumni and attended of 50 or more years. These ‘Roos carry the traditions and history of the College in their experiences and memories from attending Austin College in a different era.
Each year, Austin College holds Golden ‘Roo Weekend to honor these alumni. Events of the weekend typically include a 50-year reunion luncheon for the entering Golden ‘Roo class, a “Walk Down Memory Lane” where Golden ‘Roos share their stories with distinguished faculty, a dinner presentation of golden anniversary medallions and certificates.
Each new Golden ‘Roo class is invited to be involved in Commencement by leading the graduate procession and enjoying special seating at the ceremony.
