Austin College Health Services does not exist just for those who are sick; it offers many other services directed at education and wellness.
Information regarding health, nutrition, and prevention of illness and disease is presently available throughout the year during Project Floor and residence hall programming. Watch for flyers around campus. Interest in additional programs for your group should be brought to the attention of Health Services and/or the Wellness Peer Educators.
Assistance in the form of information regarding health-related matters is available from Health Services. Our waiting area is well stocked with pamphlets relating to all areas of health and wellness. The staff is ready to assist with any needs or questions students may have. The nurse is available to discuss any specific concerns or requests for information. All health records and discussions with students are private and confidential.
New State of Texas laws requiring Meningitis Vaccination for all new resident college students became effective January 1, 2010. Exemption information and application can be found at the Department of State Health Services.
Any student who is unable to bring the necessary documentation will need to make arrangements to reside off campus until he/she comes into compliance with the meningitis immunization guidelines. If you require local lodging information go to http://www.austincollege.edu/about/campus-info/north-texas-area.
